To get this you will need to be nice to Bullet throughout the game to get the good dog ending. You will need to pet him consistently throughout the game, giving him treats and destroying totems. Pet him especially when he has done something good like when he brings you an item or when he is scared. There will be a point when Carver tells you to send Bullet underneath a tree do not do this as this will scare bullet and impact the relationship, instead run ahead and call him towards you.

If you want to avoid the spoiler below, read it when you are carrying Bullet.
When Bullet gets shot do not press to put him down as this will have the biggest impact on the relationship.

This trophy is significantly easier to accomplish when doing the bad ending as breaking totems that scare Bullet will increase the relationship and you cannot do this in the good ending.
